This song is dedicated to Yelawolf’s fiance, Fefe Dobson. It’s also somewhat reminiscent of the song Love Is Not Enough off of his 2010 EP, Trunk Muzik 0-60. This song appears as the final track on Yelawolf’s 2013 mixtape Trunk Muzik Returns and as the 11th track on his 2015 sophomore album, Love Story.

Yelawolf announced via an Instagram post in early May 2016 that he and Fefe had separated.

“Morphine” is the sixth song from Princess Nokia’s fourth mixtape A Girl Cried Red. On the song, Nokia talks about the struggles in her life that no one sees and alludes to a girl who might make her pain disappear as if she were on the titular drug.

I am listening to “Jackers in My Home” by South Park Mexican while working, and it has always been a track that intrigues me with its intense lyrics and powerful storytelling. Released on November 8, 2008, as part of the album “The Last Chair Violinist,” this song delves into the world of crime, fear, and survival.

The Gas Face is perhaps 3rd Bass' most well-known song; a triumphant dressing-down of what they perceived to be questionable rappers, rivals, and racism.

The rappers tell us what makes them make the gas face: the face you make when you smell another man’s farts.

Also notable as the first appearance of Zev Love X, along with KMD, on wax.

The first single from Freddie Gibbs' third studio album Shadow of a Doubt.

In this song, Gangsta Gibbs raps about the grind and hustle of dealing drugs and doing murders in the hood. From a young kid up until a kingpin drug dealer now directing young kids as he once was. He also raps about the reward at the end of it all which is money. However if you watch the video to the song you can see that all that money comes from murder as Gibbs directs a youngin to shoot a guy in his trunk that robbed and killed his buddy the night before.

As the late Senator Everett Dirksen is popularly attributed as having said, “A million here, a million there, and pretty soon you’re talking real money!”

Bangladesh produced the song but has not received a penny of royalties from Cash Money.

In addition, this entire song was taken in one take. Wayne has claimed that the verses were freestyles.

Gang Starr’s thug eulogy to the seminal MC, Big L. In this song, Preemo uses (in a very ingenious way) a sample of Walk on By: a Cal Tjader’s song.

Kanye West, XXL Magazine, October 2010:

I am where art meets commercial. The sweet spot between the hood and Hollywood. Having a conversation with Karl Lagerfeld and Jay-Z within the same hour. When we’re in Paris dressing all crazy at fashion shows, we listening to Jeezy. Jeezy in Paris, that’s what it is

This song gains thematic weight from the long, rich history of African-Americans in Paris and the rest of France, dating back to the early nineteenth century. Paris has historically been a place where black artists could go to escape vicious racism and gain the appreciation denied them in their homeland. See a short sample list of folks who have done so here.

Intially previewed in 2023 as a solo Central Cee track, in March 2024, a story post from Cench confirmed that him and Atlanta rapper Lil Baby were working on the song together.

Following teasers on social media, the song released on May 23, 2024, presumably the lead single to Cench’s debut album, CRG (Can’t Rush Greatness).
