Zork. Wow. I remember that my friend's dad actually mapped out the entire thing by hand on grid paper.
I suspect that's the smart way to do it. Would make a pretty cool map.
It can take a few tries. Sometimes you'll exit a room to the east, but have to go north to get back. That's not usually immediately obvious, and can mess up your maps.
Source: just played through Trinity for the first time since I was a kid.
Yeah. My maps were a mess, but they got me where I needed to go.
