I'm not surprised. I'm on this site because I'm sick of being banned on reddit for thinking wrong.

If it's like that on lemmy.ca then why not go to a different Lemmy host or make your own. Both things that are not an option for Reddit
Somewhat, but the way federated instances are set up, it's not nearly as bad or easily abused. Not as if making a new Reddit account was that much of a roadblock, either. They accept 10minutemail addresses.
The “wrong” is different here.
