Guix users looking around shiftily and sweating
Wouldn’t gnux make more sense?
Tap for spoiler
Gnux/linu
richard stallman wanted lignux lmfao
Honestly, I think this kinds works. Like Lignux neatly integrates GNU without awkwardly expanding it and could be pronounced the same way already is (unless you want to be a psychopath and go around saying 'Lig-Nucks').
But you do pronounce the g in gnu, so NOT saying it as lig-nucks would still be dropping the gnu. Plus it sounds like "lick nuts" and that makes me giggle.
I am so happy that is the case because that's always my immediate solution as well.
Can't wait for a distro that uses only rust in the user space and calls itself rust/linux
I think you all missed it, somebody solved the naming issue a few days ago in another Linux community
Solved??, looks like the post get really hit it
I have no idea what the guy is talking about.
I just thought it was relevant as they put forward a rant about solving “the GNU Linux naming problem” that is one of the more confusing and strange things I have read.
Yea, I read that post twice and still dont even know what they are suggesting as a solution for me to decide to hate it.
(GNU/Linux)' = -GNU/Linux²

2. Be civil
- Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
- Do not harrass or attack members of the community for any reason.
- Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
- Bigotry will not be tolerated.
- These rules are somewhat loosened when the subject is a public figure. Still, do not attack their person or incite harrassment.
3. Post Linux-related content
- Including Unix and BSD.
- Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of
sudo
in Windows. - No porn. Even if you watch it on a Linux machine.
4. No recent reposts
- Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.
