Assignment due today that I haven't made much progress on. Two more next week with extensions, but I want to get them done end of this week so I have time to study for exams. The extensions cut into the exam study period.

Praying I can get everything done in time. I'm not going to let anything stop me today.

I don't watch any reality type of shows unless they're about finding gold or opals but this new Sin City Tow show on Discovery is my new little treat. I'm sure a chunk of it is staged but I don't care.

I'm debating whether or not I should take a gap year before starting the teaching course.

This is on the basis that I find a casual job with full time hours. I really wanted to do teaching but everyone around me is saying I shouldn't do it because of behaviour management, taking work home, and that I'm too much of a stresshead. I also have unmanaged ADHD, constantly submitting things late. When I'm a "bad student", I feel like I'll be a bad teacher.

I think I'll try the teaching course and then apply for OT if it doesn't fit.

Teaching is really something you have to love to do.

Youโ€™ll often feel unappreciated and have to put in a lot of hours for meetings and after work meetings.

Thereโ€™s also communications with parents as well and they arenโ€™t always a nice thing to deal with.

Depending on where you work you may have to deal with dual curriculums and youโ€™ll have even less time to teach.

Then thereโ€™s the dreaded report writing.

I think pay may have gotten better and itโ€™s certainly an area where jobs are in demands at the moment.

Always regretted not taking a gap year. If you can manage it, do it. You may discover your life's passion who knows....

Could you work as a teacherโ€™s aide for a while to sus out what itโ€™s like to work at a school? (Although you might need a cert to do that - not sure)

This is something I'm looking into!

I would say take a gap year if you're feeling a bit lost/overwhelmed because god knows it becomes much harder to do as you get older. And some of the people you meet/experiences you have may turn out to be pivotal to the rest of your life, even if you end up going in a different direction.

Last vintage vinyl, made in 1973, was Rudy Vallee radio shows with various great stars of the 1920s and 30s.

Gershwin interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEOQlyacEro

Huston singing September Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3mAT-4FdP4

Vallee was a truly disgusting person who was very charming once the microphone was on

he was much parodied by Fred Allen, Stan Frieberg and Hans Conried , who were radio and tv stars of the 50s and 60s . ( not the disgusting part, just the smarmy part )

It was wonderful hearing Bert Lahr do some of his vaudeville routine ( I couldn't find a copy anywhere ) , it was the same schtick he did as the Cowardly Lion years later on The Wizard of Oz. He was a very famous star and the audience at the time would have gotten all those old jokes he did. Us, we have no clue what he's doing, just that he was amusing and eccentric.

I have a big fat jaw-welding chunky peanut butter sammich and for some reason the cats INSIST i have something for them.

They've sniffed it and disregarded the sammich, but persist in demanding...something
