Summary

A sexual abuse lawsuit against former WWE CEO Linda McMahon, Trump’s education secretary pick, is paused while a ruling is made on Maryland’s 2023 Child Victims Act, which eliminated the statute of limitations for abuse claims.

The lawsuit, filed by five men, accuses McMahon of ignoring abuse by former WWE announcer Melvin Phillips, who allegedly assaulted boys as young as 13 in the 1980s.

McMahon denies the claims and plans to fight the case.

Vince McMahon, also implicated, left WWE earlier this year amid misconduct allegations.

Corruption is now the governing system in the US. Fucking lovely.

Has been for a while. Now they're just being brazen and open about it.

Did you sleep through his 1st administration? It was all about selling out the US for profit for him and his "friends", and trying to kill the people that live here while blaming minorities, and embracing hate groups as a personal militia.

This time around he ran on the platform of imprisoning political rivals, increasing hate against minorities/Jews/and "radical democrats", using the military to put down opposition/protests (he was a big fan of Tiananmen Square), taking away people's insurance, raising taxes while cutting taxes and regulation for the wealthy and crypto scammers and on and on. Just promising endless corruption, and people saw that and said "OK" and voted him in.

Yes, which was an anomaly at the time, and there were people still in the mix stopping some of that from "going too far". No resistance this time. They have Congress and the WH. Going to just be blatant out and out corruption.

Then the people need to make them all fearful again, IMO.

“The US government now consists of just the FBI and the Post Office. The rest of the country is now a patchwork of autonomous corporate franchises.”

Not too far off from the current state of things. The corporations own everything and dictate many policies.

Vince McMahon decided it was best to step away from the WWE over these allegations, but Linda is going to be the US’s education secretary.

Vince didn't even step away because of this. Vince stepped away because of his own actions 35 years later. That is related to the Jenelle Grant lawsuit which is also paused because of an active federal human trafficking investigation. So many fucking skeletons in this closet.

Linda was CEO of wwe when Jessica Massaro was drugged and raped at a us military base in Kuwait, iirc. She committed suicide but she had detailed the abuse and the cover up to her attorney years prior. Written statement in her own words, its a fucking tragic case and i really hope the story cracks open if there is an actual cabinet appointment process.

I feel like justice is going to be dealt by the people and not by the system we agreed to live in, and that isn't the system I agreed to live in.

His whole cabinet is like one of those sting operations where they offer something great to a bunch of sex criminals to get them all in one place.

Of course, Trump fell asleep halfway through that episode of Law & Order, so instead of arresting them, his dumb ass is actually giving them the great thing.
