I'm on SDF Lemmy myself. SDF used to have its fair share of outgoing federation issues, and whenever one of my posts wouldn't make it to a non-SDF instance a community is hosted on, I would rant about it in the local SDF venue.

But for the past few months, I really haven't had any issues, save for the occasional post that would never make it across. And today I realized that all of them, without exception, are posts I make to communities hosted on lemmy.world.

Here's the latest one: it shows up on my local SDF Blender@lemmy.world mirror alright but is nowhere to be seen on the primary Blender@lemmy.world community page. It's possible that it will show up there late eventually, I've seen it happen many times on other instances as they synchronize, but if this one is anything like the previous similar problems I've had posting in other lemmy.world-hosted communities, it's basically never going to get there.

So I think there's a very real lemmy.world INCOMING federation issue. In fact, I'm not even sure this very post is going to show up there at all πŸ™‚ [EDIT: it looks like this one did]

Oh wow, that's a great dashboard! Definitely bookmarking this one. Thanks!

Re my problems with lemmy.world, I'm just one guy and I'm on a tiny instance that isn't all that well supported if I'm honest. I'm not dismissing the possibility that the SDF instance is at fault here: it has been troublesome in the past so I wouldn't be surprised.

But I find it a bit too much of a coincidence that all my remaining problems are posting to lemmy.world communities. And other people on other instances also hinted at similar experiences (I can't find the comments now though, sadly). Hence my posting this here.

Lemmy has some federation issues in general. We lemmy.world has just "so many" because we are on a large scale that no one ever had.

No news 10 days later. The admins definitely don't see too reactive

I've seen others report this before, it seems to be kinda random, as this works fine for most other users. Individual posts sometimes don't get accepted by Lemmy, but I don't currently know what is causing that.

And of course, just to make me lie, it made it 3 hours later πŸ™‚
