Mrs forgot my dinner so Iโm eating now whilst she is trying to do the bedtime routine. Toddler just tore ass down the hallway with the Mrs exhaustedly chasing him. Donโt think she appreciated my comment of โheโs too higher level. You need more gym badges!โ
๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ I doubt lol
I'm sad about Jocelyn Wilderstein. I really like her. Rest in peace.
Woke up with a terrible coughing fit middle of the night. Now back from doing some shopping and definitely going downhill. Cough, achy, shivers. Tested negative but I think something is going on.....
Send hope it's just post travel detox.
I just got an email from the fair work ombudsman about new employment laws
From 1 January 2025,โฏintentional underpayment of wages or entitlements can be a criminal offence.
Was that seriously not already?
I suspect the 'Ooops, sorry! Dint mean to!' defence was heavily lobbied for. By practically every single employer. Particularly by 'small business'.
This time we have tarp & tape windows and a contact covered bathroom unit. Habitation Certs, what are they?
Jeez bit of an ominous start to 2025. EU, US.. lotta death and it's only day 2.
Gโday

~~This year~~ *Last year I started to need reading glasses for the first time. Was noticing tiny print was hard to read. Screens and books were still ok. But has been progressing and now I find myself holding books too far away, and I need brighter light to read, ugh guess I need to actually wear the glasses. Might be time to recheck the prescription too. Sigh. Aging is rubbish. I would like my 21 year old body back please, but keep my current brain.
*2025 still not seeped into brain yet.
Went for a walk and it feels cool outside. Good, because means house will take longer to heat up tomorrow.

Seafood feast with champagne please. Because it's Thursday.
Watched Night in Paradise this evening. Brutal (as Asian gang movies often are) but odd pacing and dynamic with a smidge of romance. Kind of satisfying ending, but just tragic.
Also watched The Roundup. Iโll never get tired of Ma Dong-seokโs characters beating up baddies. The slapping in The Outlaws cracks me up.
Off to bed soon. Need to get some nutritious food into my engine, while the indulgent food might be tasty the sluggishness is not.
Night all. โจ
Managed to sleep. I had to take a melatonin, and I didn't get to sleep until 3, but it worked in the end. I woke up a few times because I bumped my burn I got yesterday from those damn cupcakes. I tried to put some non adhesive dressing I had on it yesterday, but I couldn't find my first aid tape, so I had to try and use sticky tape. But it ended up just really hurting everywhere else on my wrist so I took it off
With all these public holidays, I keep thinking today is Monday. Nothing to do today, so I'm going to catch up on the dishes I abandoned last night
woke up overly warm , then Ted says it's breakfast time
DAMMIT. I have been using solid soaps, shampoo and conditioner and body moisturiser from ethique for years now but they have stopped selling here. They are solid bars and a bit more $$ then bog standard but really nice and last for MONTHS.
Anyone got good tips on solid bar toiletries and cosmetics?
EDIT stand down (for now). Looks like there are still some stockists, they have just closed their direct website
Gonna try and get to bed now. Not sure it'll work very well since I basically slept 90% of the day away
Quietish year I think this year. Big birthday in 72 days (I've been counting for the last 300). Then I finish my course in I think October (or maybe it's November? I can't bloody remember). I don't really have a whole lot else happening. I'm one of those people that needs specific dates to look forward to, or in the case of Christmas and New year, a date I dread that I can say "the sooner it comes, the sooner it goes"
Scary year, too, though
