I Like Birds https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=32J5jCP1z9A

Edit: The other day I saw a bird I couldnโ€™t quite place (I donโ€™t know all the names). It might have been a honeyeater/wattlebird but I couldnโ€™t tell at that distance. I hope the magpies donโ€™t drive all the other natives away.

There used to be a tawny frogmouth that would come sit on my fence hooting. Probably attracted by the mice that would be hiding in my long grass. I havenโ€™t seen that bird in years. Maybe it ate a poisoned mouse or someone screwed with its habitat

Hmm well I haven't driven since pre-covid. I do have a full license. I'll leave it to you if you want me to take the risk for you

I have magpie pics but I/my house are in them. One shows a magpie chilling about a metre from me and not afraid.

Iโ€™ve stopped feeding them anything now because theyโ€™d begun approaching me and itโ€™s probably good they stay cautious of humans. (And donโ€™t start to depend on being fed.) Just the water dish now.

Cat stuffOh shit, Iโ€™m calling it. She still has the uti. Iโ€™ve given her some extra meds and will be taking a sample in tomorrow. I already got one intending to take it in today but mixed up the days

Kitchen stuffI washed/rewashed all the dishes myself last night and even cleaned out the cutlery drawer and washed the bits of the stove. I didnโ€™t have energy to dry stuff or do the rest of the kitchen so I let everything dry on the dishrack/a towel overnight.

Thankfully I havenโ€™t seen any more roaches since I set the borax baits so hopefully they didnโ€™t come for a sip of the drips. shudder

When I put the stove covers and racks back and put away the dishes I can either make some dairy free custard or finish cleaning the kitchen.

It depends on if I think I can handle the custard. My stomach has really been hurting.

Garden stuff

The zucchini have like 3-4 fruit now. The cherry tomatoes are starting as well.

Only one of the Jack be little pumpkins has sprouted. I didnโ€™t treat it any differently from the golden nuggets so maybe it comes down to freshness. Maybe I might plant a few more.

Iโ€™m wondering if I can be cheeky and double up with two plants in each 20 gallon grow bag, and put the jack be littles in the 30 cm pots. Spare ones could go in the ground.

Edit: Wow Bunnings charge like a wounded bull for delivery
