Hi folks,

I really don't want a new phone when this one runs great.

I flashed evolution X (Android 13) and really like it. It seems that nobody is maintaining the op7 build any longer though.

Any suggestions to keep this (old?) dog running?

Side note, before trying evox, I tried to flash pixel experience and could never get it to properly side load.

LineageOS? That's kind of the go to ROM for something that works well.

I'm a fan of crdroid, based on lineage. Seems someone is still maintaining it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-13-oos-cam-op7pro-crdroid-v9-7-23-07-2023.4511589/

I'll second CrDroid. Gabriel Wolfe I think is the name of the maintainer. He does a great job of it with updates coming out roughly every two weeks. I always had a couple bugs (camera not focusing quite right sometimes, some crash messages on reboot), but never any major issues.

Does Google pay / wallet work with it?

Took the time to migrate to crdroid. Works well. The only things I'm really missing are:

  • ability to change appearance of quick settings
  • ability to swipe up from the pill for either split screen or notifications

Quick settings background images are nice, but back when I ran DU, you could have those images change based on time of day. Not a huge thing, but a main reason I would want custom QS backgrounds in the first place.
