At least three Israeli soldiers were killed in an explosion in Gaza’s besieged northern city of Jabalia on 23 December, as a revived Qassam Brigades continues to step up attacks and sophisticated operations against Tel Aviv’s forces.

Laws passed during the era of the New Deal prohibited the use of prison labor with the exception of state institutions. However, lobbying by corporations eventually allowed them to use prison labor by 1979, and by 1995 businesses won exemptions from minimum wage laws which permitted them to exploit prison labor for, according to Elizabeth S. Anderson, "mere pennies an hour." She adds that "many are forced to work in unsafe conditions without protective equipment, because workplace health and safety laws do not apply to prison workers."[39]

Summary

Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries, facing sex trafficking and interstate prostitution charges, has been diagnosed with dementia and late-onset Alzheimer’s, according to court filings.

Jeffries, 80, and co-defendants allegedly ran an international sex trafficking ring from 2008 to 2015, coercing young men, some financially vulnerable or with ties to Abercrombie, into sex acts for career opportunities.

Prosecutors claim victims were intimidated, drugged, and paid large sums.

Jeffries, under house arrest since October, has pleaded not guilty, with a competency hearing scheduled for June.

hey nerds, I'm getting myself a new personal laptop as a treat, but I very much do not want windows 11 shitting it up. Is there a linux distro with caveman-compatible instructions for installation and use? I want to think about my OS as little as possible while actually using it.

I've got one friend who uses mint, but I've also seen memes dunking on it so who knows. I actually really only know what I've seen from you all shitposting in other communities
