Personally I think Vancouver's residential areas desperately need more commercial spaces to make communities more walkable. Here's your chance to have your say.

See "mixed-use building" in the context of new development. Your ground floor is perfect for a little bodega, restaurant or coffee shop, pro office like dentists and schools on top of that and under the 70 stories of residential.

You're campaigning against a problem already solved.

??? Already solved? All of these bodegas are grandfathered into neighborhoods, if they close they legally can’t open another one there.

Also, there’s so few to begin with. Most neighborhoods are pretty segmented away from commercial shops.
