I believed until I was 8 or so that beans were a type of meat. When I learned the truth, I had an argument with my older brother with me saying something along the line, "You're gonna feel real dumb when Mom says I'm right."

I'll admit to thinking this too ~~and being~~ when I was a little bit older than 8, so you can feel better now.

I am going to say this is like 30% accurate. Mushroom are pretty much actually meat. Shellfish are actually the opposite they are plants made of meat.

I get what you are saying but you were on to something.

Shellfish are actually plants

what?

[-] UnicodeHamSic@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They are sesile and lack a complex nervous system. They are essentially plants

Do mushrooms have a complex nervous system?

[-] UnicodeHamSic@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

I am not sure that we really know. Some might actually

[-] GreenTeaRedFlag@hexbear.net 1 points 1 year ago

no, no they do not. Complex nerves only make sense if you move around a lot and can react quickly to your environment.
