The panel is the only redeeming part of the show, really. His jokes are just increasingly of the 'old man yells at cloud' type.
True. I'm a right winger, so I do like how sometimes he'll go against a left wing talking point in the monologue, but in my opinion he's not particularly funny in those monologues, it just doesn't work for me. But to be fair, I'm 23, not a boomer, so to an extent that's not a problem because the show is not made for me. That'd be, fittingly, the role of Last Week Tonight, which in turn I really love despite not agreeing with John Oliver on politics.
