YouTube warns it might make your viewing experience worse if you don't turn off your ad-blocker::YouTube has been cracking down on people using ad blockers. Now, a spokesperson says that using ad blockers could lead to "suboptimal viewing."

I would gladly pay for it. BUT

  • it is owned by google
  • monopoly (i am waiting when will they announce a new tier of subscription with limited ads, and increase the price of the current model)
  • i wouldnt pay for extra features, i would only pay for not making my experience worse, and this is probably the biggest reason for me.

It is not 'might'. We know they will do something like that.

Before AI went viral, how much did Giogle search improve, Youtube at all? Not at all really, but they cranked up the adverts. So now i am paying for Kagi search, I also sponsor open source projects so dont tell me that I am entitled. Youtube is the last Google product that cannot be replaced as of right now.

At the end of the day all i want is to be a customer, not a product.
