Are chavs still a thing?
They've evolved into Roadmen.
Gained a puffer jacket to disguise the noodly arms.
But lost socks meaning less winter survival. Might be balanced out by beards to hide wobbly chins.
I've noticed that people still use chav for women, which is probably because roadmen is a gendered term anyway. But also the fact that's it's more gendered has helped with it's reclaimation slightly. I've met people who proudly have a 'chav aesthetic', which is no worse than most of the other 2000s aesthetics.
Based on the Gay Porn Index™, yes, they are.
So while it’s apparently an American fetish, is “chav” an insult if used by a Brit?
Chav is an insult no matter who says it 🤣
