They have no interest in living in space but 100000000% interest in exploiting it for resources with autonomous miners. The space exploration/tourism is just to get R&D paid for by the big earners but not really wealthy. Not wealthy enough to make a space station anyway.

I don't believe it's possible for another 100 years but that's 2 generations which is nothing if you're a dynastic wealthy family who thinks you're charting the course of humanity. If it sounds crazy keep in mind they were the original latch key kids, growing up with au pairs and private jets. Their thought process operates on a different inertia to the point of brain damage due to isolation from the consequences of their actions.
