Why do so many videos and even online camera stores call the 4/3 type sensor "Micro Four Thirds" when Micro Four Thirds is a mirrorless camera mount format? (sopuli.xyz)

I get that they sound similar but they absolutely are not the same thing and its use implies that there are only mirrorless cameras.

I've still got an old Olympus E-300 that fits that category :)

The Panasonic LX100 and Leica D-Lux are fixed-lens cameras with that sensor format.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has the m43 mount but not a 4/3 sensor; it's 18.95x10mm instead of 17.3x13mm.
