Way too lenient to the conspiracy theorists. A lot of "yeah good point they're totally right and definitely everything they were scared of happened during Covid, but it went away because people protested and THAT'S why the conspiracy theory is wrong." No. Nobody is trying to do the 15 minute city lock down at all, that's why it's a dumb conspiracy theory. 15 minute cities are a good way to live life, a good way to set cities up for humans instead of cars, and there is literally zero top-down restrictions on movement ever mentioned when trying to build this better environment. It allows people to live without cars if they want to, while not stopping others from owning cars if they want to.
The conspiracy theorists are just inventing a down side in order to be against it. It's like someone saying the REAL reason behind Originalism as a judicial philosophy is that Conservatives have a time machine and they're going to bring a Founding Father through time to become a fascist dictator with the power to legally interpret the Constitution however they want. No, they are just Conservatives doing conservative things and making up a bunch of bullshit about what COULD happen in an entirely fictional world that nobody is pushing for is not a good argument against Originalism.
I think covid proved that they wouldn't even need a 15 minute city to lock most people down
I mean China would totally do that.
China locks you into your house lol why would they bother with that.
