I think people are leaving lemmy.ml and finding alternatives on instances that are a little bit less restrictive in terms of free speech and criticism of certain governments.
I've got to agree with you on that one
I finally removed all my subs from over there
Couldn't take it anymore
Is there some drama going on? Looking at their rules, it doesn't seem to be extraordinary. And their recent comments and posts doesn't clarify things up for me either.
You can have a look at this thread: https://lemmy.world/post/16211417
There was then this thread which discussed how to have alternatives to lemmy.ml communities: https://lemmy.world/post/16277332
Sorry I can't provide you a beehaw link, but as you defederated LW it's not possible
I just blocked lemmy.ml as a whole. It's easy for individual users to do.

It's definitely that, though I would prefer to see !linux@poweruser.forum become the defacto home of Linux over programming dev. Simply for the connotations of programming dev feeling like a gate keep. But it is what it is.
On that topic, @rglullis@communick.news, how do you deal with the bus factor for instance you manage, such as poweruser.forum?
Should something (and I really hope it won't!) happen to you, is there a backup person in place?
Yes. I do have someone who can take over Communick and has enough know-how to manage things or at least ensure that an orderly transition is possible.
Still, the best way to guarantee that Communick will be around for the next decades to come is by making sure that it becomes a viable business.
