I’m wondering if I should spray a stinky orange cleaner or repellent around outside to discourage the visiting cats. I like them but Melbcat gets really stressed out and being an indoor kitty could feel like she’s trapped with threats outside.

I just know orange oil and other essential oils/ strong scents are an asthma trigger and might waft back inside 🤔

Nah, you'll feel like shit if it affects your cat.

I orange oil my wooden floors and neither my asthma nor the cats are bothered by it. Everyone is different…

I don’t wanna mess with their breathing or hurt their peets

They don't tend to go near it at all. I've used it on a fence as a paste to keep a neighbourhood cat our of my yard, and to keep my own contained before I built their cat run.

How it it as a sprinkle on the ground/doorstep? And if I can’t find a small thing of chili powder could I use one of those Hoyt’s sachets of cayenne pepper?

I’m a bit worried about tracking it inside for Melbcat to walk on and lick from her feet.

Don't know about the cayenne pepper. I got 1kg for $5 at the grocers and just spread a line where I didn't want them to cross. I reapplied it after rain and they didn't go near it.
