Edit: Corrected spelling of Torres's rank.

Based off a moment from VOY:Prototype that I just facepalmed and chuckled at, roughly around the 34:45 mark. The first two frames are pulled from around there, and the last four are just various images pulled from online.

This was like my first experience of a "cross-over" when I was a kid. I remember thinking, "oh that's so cool she's referencing another character from another Star Trek!"

It's also a great use of expended universe lore, even a rebel ex Starfleet officer respected Data's identity. The Measure of a Man was such a great episode.

So you felt nothing when they were briefly on DS9 and stopped by Quark's before getting lost in the Delta Quadrant? You bring dishonor to your house! (In fact, Tom gets in a barfight with Quark (not shown on screen, unfortunately) in that one timeline where Harry was never assigned to Voyager.)

Just kidding about the "dishonor to your house part". Honestly, I like some of the fun 90s Trek had with crossovers, especially how VOY sort of rehabilitated Barclay. Honorable mention to that thing where Bashir helped Data have dreams. I guess O'Brien and the eventual Worf being mains on DS9 count as well; I think despite his flaws getting really annoying, Worf gave us an excuse for the fun Klingon political plot lines.

As an actual question, though, do any of the following apply to you?:

  1. Didn't also watch DS9 as a kid.
  2. Were watching Voyager out of order, only catching random episodes, etc.
  3. All of the above

Haha tbh I think I was just a kid like 8 years old or something and it probably just didn't register until that episode. Growing up my family would watch Trek every Wednesday when new episodes came out, but we weren't allowed to watch a lot of TV.

I'm guessing my parents thought we wouldn't care/understand much of DS9 as I didn't really watch it until I was older. I think VOY came on earlier in the night and DS9 may have been past our bedtime too.
