can't help but notice this is the only entry on this page. and that all but one of the words are correctly spelled.

I'm inclined to agree. "It's like comparing a flower to an old shoe" is just a bit too witty for a little kid.
"Journal", "it's", and "because" are all mispelled in the original.

Maybe fake, but definitely gay
we don't know the authors age, I had recess up to the sixth grade and this would be well within my skill level at that age
My son's school has recess up to grade 7, but I think grade 5 would be a better guess for learning the meaning of the word lesbian and also the quality of the handwriting. This is also about the time I recall girls and boys starting to have crushes.
If we're judging by handwriting then I'm nearly 30 and my handwriting isn't much better. So I say the writer was clearly somewhere in their early 20s.
We don't know the author's gender.
Not saying it's fake, but point 4 is a good way of spreading misinformation on the internet
