You're saying a large group of voters is NOT voting for Harris, but would if she said these words. Yet if Trump says these words those same voters would NOT vote for him? Why would those voters NOT vote for Trump? This should be an easy answer for you, embarrassingly easy even.

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 2 points 3 days ago

What? Most maga folks are super into what is happening re Israel/gaza

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Then why hasn't Trump said the words? According to @Cruxifux@feddit.nl its a slam dunk method to get votes that are currently holding out voting?

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Why would he say that to a base that doesn't want to hear it? His base is cool with what's happening in gaza

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 2 points 2 days ago

I’m starting to realize partial_acumen is either an idiot or arguing in bad faith and I don’t know why I argued with them for so long.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world -1 points 3 days ago

So you're saying he would alienate some of his base and lose votes by saying it, right?

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 2 points 3 days ago

Everything I've said has been quite clear. Achieve your own conclusions.

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl -1 points 3 days ago

He’s trying to do a gotcha thing where he’s saying that the democrats will lose as much votes as they’ll gain, same as the republicans, if they take an anti genocide stance. Which is a moronic thing to say when democrats are also preemptively blaming leftists for a possible harris loss because they’re taking a hard stance on genocide and trying to pressure Harris to also take this stance. It’s extra mega dumb.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

He’s trying to do a gotcha thing

Its not a "gotcha", its the Socratic method.

where he’s saying that the democrats will lose as much votes as they’ll gain, same as the republicans, if they take an anti genocide stance.

No. Democrats will lose more votes than they gain. I don't like Israels actions, but withholding a vote to Harris guarantees far worse treatment of the Muslim world (and anyone not white and rich) under Trump. Its why Harris hasn't said your magic words. I don't like the world is this way, but just wishing it was different isn't enough.

Lol engage fedora

You're JAQin

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl -1 points 3 days ago

Well if it doesn’t matter anyway in your opinion, then you won’t mind if I continue to criticize Harris about how she and the Biden administration is handling it and not give a shit if it’s a hard line issue for me that I’m not willing to cross.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Sure, go ahead. Its a free country...for now. I personally don't like how its Israel is being empowered to continue its violence either, but skipping a vote for Harris is crossing your line as you're empowering Trump to do far worse to far more people.

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl -2 points 3 days ago

Listen man, either the genocide vote matters and my original point stands or it doesn’t and you can fuck off with your guilt trip about not supporting anybody who supports a genocide. You don’t get it have it both ways.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I'm sorry the world isn't as simple as you and I want it to be.

You have 3 choices:

  • Vote for Trump
  • Vote for no one (and may Trump win)
  • Vote for Harris

There is no choice you have that prevents all damage to the world. You can choose to cause the least amount of damage. That would be a vote for Harris.

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl -1 points 2 days ago

I can’t believe you just told me that the world isn’t as simple as I think it is and then in the same thought way oversimplified the options and implications of those choices in this election.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I tried to offer the choices in as simple a view as possible because you only seem to view your choices in the simple.

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl -4 points 3 days ago

Well you better tell that to every liberal who blames the left for not voting for Harris over the Gaza issue if she loses then.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

Well you better tell that to every liberal who blames the left for not voting for Harris over the Gaza issue if she loses then.

If they want to sit on their hands and not vote for Harris, that is their choice and their right. I disagree with them. If it ushers in a victory for Trump, they will have done themselves (and the rest of us) more harm than any words I could say then.

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 0 points 2 days ago

I just don’t think I’ll ever see eye to eye with someone who doesn’t think applying pressure to politicians to stop promoting genocide is the right thing to do. I just do not understand that lapse in morality and logic at all. I hope I never do.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I just don’t think I’ll ever see eye to eye with someone who doesn’t think applying pressure to politicians to stop promoting genocide is the right thing to do.

Keep applying pressure to Harris, but withholding a vote from her will mean much more violence against many more innocent people around the world when you help Trump win.

I just do not understand that lapse in morality and logic at all.

Withholding a Harris vote because you abhor violence is you embracing morality blind to logic that you want to stop violence.

In life we don't always get the chance to make the "best" choice and are left instead to make the "least worse". This is one of those times.

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 1 points 2 days ago

And how do you apply pressure to someone without withholding your vote exactly? Because you guys sure didn’t do the whole “Hold his feet to the fire” shit with Biden, so tell me what will be different this time.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

How do you apply pressure when your lack a vote allows a Trump vote to be meaningful in its place?

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl -1 points 2 days ago

You threaten to withhold votes until your candidate stops supporting genocide. I don’t understand what liberals don’t get about this.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Withholding a vote for Harris means a vote for Trump is counted is supporting genocide.

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 0 points 1 day ago

Threatening to withdraw votes is the only way you can put pressure on the American voting system to stop genocide you fucking moron.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

You think withdrawing your vote from Harris will stop genocide when it allows Trump into office? Who is the moron now?

[-] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 1 points 1 day ago

No, threatening to withhold your vote applies pressure you fucking idiot.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Sorry, not falling for your garbage. You've also shown you are done with any reasonable conversation with your name calling. Welcome to my block list. Feel free to respond to the void if you feel the need.
