After taking a couple of days break from this community as I felt I was posting too much; coming back and skim reading some of the comments / threads:

[-] Llabyrinthine@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Aww, why? I don’t think anyone can ever post too much.

I was checking way too often and had a broken sleep cycle which meant opening up the latest daily thread at like 4am rather than going back to sleep...

Btw thank you again for the flowers info! I still can't get over how excited they (florist) were on the phone

You’re so welcome! Glad they were so enthusiastic! ✨

Welcome back Baku, nice to see your name here again! Sorry for being late to the party there, break n all :/

G'day Indi, all good. Everybody needs a break sometimes!

Feeling a bit better now? I know I am. Good to see you as well

Yeah, yesterday was..... Something.

Some days it's all strawberries, other days are not so sweet. I put it down to the hot weather combined with the fear of upcoming Christmas shopping.

I don’t get how some of youse only ever post in the dailies.

You’re on the whole of Lemmy and you keep to one post. So weird.

We're a family group here. We don't need to see the world, we only need to see each other

[-] Nath@aussie.zone 9 points 1 month ago

I keep to Local and Subscribed. I used to explore wider around Lemmy, but the feed is full of US politics, and wars in Gaza and Ukraine. I don't find many kind people and reasoned discussions in those posts.

I'd probably be up for wider content sometimes, but I also don't want to get to a point where I'm spending 5 hours a day on Lemmy. I'd rather spend those hours reading a book. Presently, that book is Farnsy's Autobiography and it's really tickling my nostalgia.

I blocked soooooo many politics/news communities and also blacklisted the words "trump" "musk" "Gaza" "America" "USA" [etc] on my third party mobile app. Don't think you can do that on Lemmy web just yet, but 95% of my Lemmy browsing comes from mobile so it works out fine for me

I sent you a dm :)

I only came to Lemmy for this community

  1. I guess if you're looking for an answer to that, it's probably (like most things): because they want to.

  2. It's not that weird. This place has a different vibe to Lemmy as a whole, and most of /top is just memes and stuff. Some people don't care for memes. We have a good community here of regulars, so it's not that weird.

I'm part of the Lemmy problem here as old.reddit has far more activity in niche communities that I enjoy so I stick over there, which then means the activity stays on old.reddit except other than with this beautiful community of local awesome people in this daily thread.

[-] StudChud@aussie.zone 8 points 1 month ago

Lol, I scroll Lemmy like I did with Reddit, I don't comment much because I don't think I have much to say. I do upvotes posts I see. But why come here and look down on us?
