The hard-right won, and are now trying to unilaterally to rewrite the Treaty of Waitangi to affirm white supremacy or something similar.

Peter Thiel built a compound there and the right-wing got real big real fast. Standard bullshit: tough-on-crime, less rail, the climate is just fine, etc.
