If Canadians are insistent on voting in the Conservative in the next election, I wouldn't mind if we at least permanently get rid of the Liberals.
I wish the NDP remained the other choice like in the Jack Layton days.
While I have the same sentiment I think it's best not to dwell to much on a person that's been gone for more than a decade. I do feel like there's some candidates in the NDP party that seem like they'd win the party a few more seats.
Who did you have in mind?
Your wish might be granted, the Ontario liberals got obliterated when Ford came into power and lost party status.
The numbers are not far away from a total party kill.
I really think the liberals need to look at the ebb and flow of politics and factor that into their decision making. Nobody goes 10 years in Canadian politics without every problem being pinned on them, and anyone closer to Trudeau (which is their entire leadership) is radioactive at this point.
That should have changed leadership in the 2021 election.
