the stuff you've shared (and that i've managed to finish so far) makes it feel like this guy is one of us who has a time machine and went back to the 19th century to write down his observations for people to read.

it reminds me of some of my well respected colleagues (software engineering); they REALLY know their shit sometimes and, when they do, it makes me marvel at all the time i wasted trying to figure it out by myself when someone else already had the answers i needed.

Honestly, I was really shocked just how relevant stuff from Marx and Lenin was today when I started reading it. So many political debates we're having in the west today are mirrored there, and it's really too bad that so much of this stuff was effectively forgotten. Glad to see posting this stuff helps.

Sometimes, it feels like a longer winded version of the saying: history repeats itself

Kind of, the good news here is that we have lots of historical record and political theory we can study to understand the moment we're living in now. We could save a lot of debates on how to move forward if we can get more people to read this stuff.

americans don't like to read unless oprah is telling them to.

Sadly very true. I've also notice how a lot of people just dismiss this stuff as being historical and no longer relevant without actually reading it.
