Not to jinx myself, but I think most clients have a change freeze at the moment.

Let's see what happens.

yeah but is it an actual change freeze? or is it more of a change "suggestion"? I only ask cause the CIO just pushed through a non urgent change.

So you'll be "enjoying" one final Post Incident Review before Christmas? :D

F no. We're taking 0 responsibility for anything pushed through. We're not generating a PIR if you ignored our recommendation that the ELT endorsed. the team who did the change have the pleasure of justifying that themselves.

Excellent =) Same attitude here with that kind of stuff, you made your bed you lie in it.

None of the clients want to kick off a project at the moment. So a change refrigeration?

Semi freeze. Stuff that is already approved/scheduled is ok. Stuff in lower environments is ok. Nothing in UAT or Prod except emergency changes with manager approval this week.

I did have one change I was meant to implement on Friday, that now has to wait four weeks. But it is just to delete some old VMs that have been powered off for a couple of weeks. They can totally wait until 2025.

Total change freeze for three weeks starts Monday; but I have those three weeks off (so does half the office) anyway.
