Alright, this is the meme that made me cave and look up retelling of the events to see who was in the wrong.
Protesters can protest on public property as long as they don't block traffic for an extended period of time, that's just how the laws are written.
BUT the protesters claim they did comply and let a delivery vehicle through at least once every 2-3 minutes.
BUT when the NYPD barricaded the road, they did allow the protestors to stay in the area without use of excessive force.
BUT the NYPD did arrest a driver who stopped for the protestors and claimed he couldn't get past AND the NYPD also arrested the organizer of the event on unknown grounds.
So I put the wrong squarely on the NYPD in this case, hopefully a lawsuit comes through for both the driver and the strike organizer's wrongful arrests.
