I am still waiting for fortress mode to be added to Minecraft, for the planned dlc and for the game to be licensed under an open source license
Don't forget the story mode he said they're be adding.
Yes, the DLC we were promised for life for buying it during alpha.

Did they ever actually specify what they meant with that promise?
I mean, datapacks ARE a modding API. Not the kind we would have liked to see, but if a modding api is all they promised, then they did deliver on that.
It's called data-driven modding, and not exactly a rare approach among official modding APIs.
Hasnt that been added in bedrock edition?
No idea but it was promised for Java
