Trump calls the US-Canada border an "artificially drawn line", in what seems like one of the most dumbfounding statements the "build the wall" president could possibly utter.

But which probably isn't, because it's Trump.

Canada needs to ramp up its trade with other countries and become less dependent on the USA.

The current Lib government in Canada made some attempts, but the incoming Con government is going to double down on trade with the US when they get in. Poilivre is a wannabee strongman who wants abortion gone up here, and he'll just do whatever the US says, much as Harper did.

I think you'll find them saying one thing and making a give deal of it only to extend trade deals to whoever they can.

Did that happen the last time around? We were sitting here talking more trade with EU and PRC. Did that materialize? I'm skeptical but I honestly haven't seen the numbers.
