Ah man, I think I need to stop commenting on anything divisive on the internet.
I’ll post something that’s intended to be a fun fact or a conversational tidbit (or a smartarse little joke to get a laugh) and someone will take it really seriously. Like they think it’s a political endorsement or a personal challenge or something.
It isn’t. I don’t want the stress man. I’m mostly just interested in hanging out and chiming in with something vaguely related to the topic

I find it much worse on Reddit, but even here there's a fair few people who like to be intentionally obtuse
I get so excited to share a cool fact or off the cuff joke that I don’t realise how it comes across
