I mean we have tons of anticheat games working on Linux. More than people realize. Elden Ring, The Finals, Overwatch 2, CS2, Apex Legends, xDefiant and more that I can't remember right now. It's not that bad even as a multiplayer gamer. The ones that don't work R6S, Val, LoL, Fortnite, CoD and Destiny pretty much.

Hello, this is the second time I'm posting for this project and I hope someone will be interested in it. :)I am making an Action RPG called Reverse Module. All the ideas I currently have are on Codeberg.I also have a Steam page for it.

The game has to do with Utopia/Dystopia balance and it aims to present some ethical dillemas (combined with choices) that will make anyone playing think into how an actual Utopia could be achieved. In the process I hope to make the world a better place, even if a little.

The story begins in a city called Visthansia, where people can have two microchips on them. One of them doesn't allow them to hurt other people while the other calls the police if they're in trouble. These microchips are not mandatory and people get paid a UBI for having one on or double the money for both.

The game will be made in Godot, we will use Reallusion CC4 for the characters (in Windows since there is no decent Linxu alternative) and the Terrain Plugin for Godot 4. Also if something is available in the Godot Asset Library, and is of use for the project, it will also be used.

The GDD, code and assets of the project will be licenced under GPL2. Please let me know if you are interested. :)

My personal background is on coding for games, mainly gameplay. Ii have a degree in Electronics Engineering with a Master's in Graphics Programming and AI. I have been developing games for 20 years now, whether as a hobby or professionally. My aim with any project is to challenge the player's world view or at the very least help the player in some way. My current job is on Brain Training games for people with Alzheimer's Dementia etc.

Having said that, this is not a serious game, this is a traditional game with the goal of making players think.

Just ordered an M1 Mini Mac and was wondering. Does Vulkan work on it? Thinking of testing some games on it. :)

OP of the original video here. Wait till you see the Nvidia Optimus results. Even I was dumbdfounded by them. Windows is SOOOO bloated it's thermal throttling like no tomorrow on my laptop. Linux is about 20% faster even on Nvidia. XD

This is before you ever see the desktop. You HAVE to do it. It's part of the Windows installation now.

No way to skip it.

A video for any doubters that Linux gaming is better than Windows in which it DESTROYS Windows by 25% in AC Odyssey. To put it in perspective, 25% improvement is like getting a new GPU. You can save $600 and instead use something like OpenSUSE Tumbleweed for free.

DISCLAIMER: I don't really care to make Linux look better but I did a video some days ago and EVERYONE (on Reddit) told me Linux gaming CANNOT be faster or smoother. This is the proof it's both and more videos will be coming.

Performance is progressing nicely on Linux. :)

I just signed up at open.audio . This is pretty lackluster for the moment but has tremendous potential. Thank you so much for letting me know of it! :)

Actually, this seems like Spotify, I was talking abou something with comments and likes, kinda social. That would be even better imo.

Is this based on Activity Pub?

I'm not sure where to discuss this so I'm posting here since this is the hub of FOSS advocates.

I had a really interesting conversation with a friend about the Bandcamp situation and as we were discussing it occured to me that something like PeerTube but for music doesn't really exist. Which doesn't make sense in my mind as it's so much less cost to host and so useful. Half of Youtube's audience mainly goes there for music.

So, I don't know, does it make sense for anyone else to work on something Fediverse-based (Activity Pub) that is aimed at music creators?

I would even go as far as allow the creators to host ads on their page so as to attract as many of them as possible. Controversial but we have to take one step at a time to change mindsets. Right now, the situation is that you have to put up with massive advertising or go the FOSS way and depend on donations.

What do you guys think?

I shall utter the language of Mordor even here!

People will at some point need to realize that they have to donate and not pay a compulsory fee for products that are worth the money. It may not be apparent now but this is where the world is heading. When Youtube Premium also starts having ads and there's a higher tier for no ads then things will start moving and fast.

Now I have to buy their games lol.

I agree 1000000000% with them. One console called PC. :)

Still, casual gamers did think Linux couldn't game. It's changing this opinion in the best way possible and that's really important since Linux is the best OS. I personally think we still live in medieval PC times as long as Windows is the main OS used.
