Mozilla really doesn't understand its users if they thought that making that "web advertising preferences" BS opt-out would go over well

So it was just someone's sex toy. Fake headline, ugh.

Technically speaking, real human genitals float in pools all the time. They're just typically covered and attached. I'd rather swim in a pool with a sex toy vs. some kid in shitted diapers, which is a thing I've seen.

I haven't experienced any of the problems mentioned in this article while using Firefox + uBO (on Windows, Linux, and Fennec fork on Android), nor while using the Tubular app on Android.

How often does one need to transport a sofa, table, or desk? That's what delivery trucks are for, which is a legitimate use of that type of transportation.

The drugstore cowboys driving Dodge Rams clogging up the streets aren't transporting anything more robust than a 12-pack of Mtn Dew and complaining about the price of gas

Holy shit, one of the labels actually says it may expose you to lead. They knew, and they sold it anyway.

And I still can't get over the fact that kids had to be poisoned before the FDA took note.

This is a systemic failure.

For me, it was the 90s, before the entire landscape got consumed by giant corporations. I know it wasn't all roses back then, but it felt like you could find anything online, and it opened up a whole new world.

Remember when almost every new web site had a guestbook and would sometimes let you sign up for an email address using their domain? I had a [username]@britneyspears.com email address for a while.

Obviously Facebook didn't do enough to remove potentially deadly misinformation because my ex-boss was foolish enough to think I got magnetized from the COVID vaccine and also thought masks didn't work. I wish they'd been more proactive about removing shit like that.

Anyway, this seems less like a privacy issue and more like right-wingers being crybabies.
