My coworker bought a toner cartridge last week. All of my OT co-workers buy all of the supplies for their weekly activities. I buy lots of screws and small items to fix kids wheelchairs or broken classroom toys, tools for my teachers, etc. Last year i bought a $50 cot to serve as a portable changing table for field trips. New admin threw it away over the summer, along with thousands of dollars worth of equipment, because they didn't know what it was and didn't bother to ask.

Does not make me feel better. 😱😳 The way they move makes me nauseous. If i see them in the street i feel like i have to pick my feet up off the floor if my car.

Heights, s.n.a.k.e.s, clowns, and being kidnapped and getting sick or not having feminine products while I'm locked in a place without adequate facilities. Also, the vastness of things like the ocean or the grand canyon. And that I'll wake up from the dream, be 12, have to relive my life, and wont know how to get back to this exact spot.

When you get old, there are often other old people to hang out with and they mostly find each other interesting and appreciate them. You'll be ok and you'll think young people are naive and you'll laugh at their obsession with superficial things. Medical issues are real. Take care of your back, knees, and teeth.

$10k over 5 years doesn't seem like a huge incentive to a doc.

Do you have enough art classes to have completed a minor so that time doesn't seem wasted? Maybe you also have enough classes that you could shift to a fashion business degree? Then you could remain creative but also have enough business background that you could get a job in the fashion industry if design doesn't work out?

It's really hard to find the lines between community safety, 'but it's for your own good', and patient autonomy. Severe autism is an area where i think we're going to see a huge issue within 10 years. Numbers are growing in kids and as parents age/pass it's going to get bad.

I would like to see Tulsa King walk in there with a water bottle and confront that guy.

What should I buy? (lemmy.world)

Sorry if this is not the right community for this. In the US. I currently have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The air suspension was awesome, but now that it's failing it's driving me crazy so I'm looking for something new. I haul wheelchairs and similarly- sized stuff for work so i need some cargo space. I'd love an SUV with second row captains seats and no third row. Does anyone make that? I'm leaning away from American cars, but can be swayed (my last two cars were Camaro and Jeep). I like things that look a little sporty with little/no chrome, a good amount of hp, and AWD is a plus. I usually drive 10-30 miles per day and get a $60/mo stipend- so about one tank of gas right now. I've browsed the websites for the new 4runner, Outback, Forester, Santa Fe, and a few others. Appreciate any ideas or opinions.

ETA- 6 months ago the dealer wanted $9k to replace the air suspension, so i went to a small Goodyear shop for $6k instead. That shop was bought by brakes plus and they won't honor any warranty. Dropped it at the dealer for diag this morning. Just got a call - $4800. I was expecting $9k. Now I'm on the fix it/trade it fence.

If you use "they" to describe a nameless group of people and you mean anyone other than The Man (That's how they get you.), you're probably the one who's wrong.

Looking forward to reading some fun exceptions.

You don't realize how weird lyrics are until you try to get an image that reflects them. I tried two Elton John songs in Craiyon and got scary monsters.

I'm not great at determining when something is AI. Is there an app or community for asking if an image is real or AI?

When i was young I thought my mom's colorful decor was ridiculous. Now I'm old and my kids think I'm ridiculous for wanting colorful everything. Is that a thing?

Cleaning out my mom's house. I hate to trash things that may be useful to someone else and some of it's probably worth some $$. I've used Facebook marketplace a couple of times. I've heard of OfferUp and LetGo but haven't used them. Where will i get the best response and $? Should i just pile it all up and do an online estate sale instead? TIA. Also, if anyone has done this and has any general tips, please share.

My 10 year old pup is going blind. We've been in the same house for most of her life and she's doing ok, but I'm worried it's going to get more difficult for her. She's not the smartest, but she can sit, lie down, and shake on command. I've read several articles about scent training but would like to get tips from someone who has done it. I'm thinking of using 4 different scents for bed, toys, stairs, and food/water - i know she can smell the food, but i want to make sure she can find the water bowl when she's outside. Is that too many?

One article recommended marking a path on the floor/ground so she knows where there's a clear route. Another suggested marking furniture/obstacles so she knows where to avoid.

If you have any experience with this and can offer tips, i would appreciate it. Also, if you want to share any happy stories about your VI pets, i would love to hear them. It's heartbreaking to see her misjudge the doorway or bonk into things.
