Seems like most of the bill is good, and there haven’t been changes for 30 years. So a smaller step is better than zero change. Also limiting it is a moderate position then. It’s less liberal, but it appeases a wider audience. Over time that’s likely to develop further too as it sits with people. I’d rather small changes like this which actually move the needle than to look at some provisions of this and say it’s 100% wrong or worthless. It’s not black and white.

You’ve a lot of this stuff eh? What is the draw for you? Are they blank on the other sides? Like unsent ones or? It would be fun to look through them and also a great way to share.

I urge you to consider WEBP format perhaps. Its quality remains and the file sizes are much smaller. Saving you room for more. Also if you do scan these, mayb something like a Doxie would work. I have an old one which is fantastic and quick for single side scans of this size, and no need for the lifting of flatbed and swapping. Saving much time if you have many.

Hamrick.com? At first I thought it was a driver website. Scroll down to see features. MacOS also. Looks good for scanning. I’ve been using paperlesss-ngx in a docker. Never used before so I learned it just for this tool. It’s not as flashy and maybe isn’t aimed at photos, but documents instead. For photo stuff I’m using Lightroom classic. It’s also kinda new to me. But I’m learning. I’m hesitant to put my photos online and I’m not eager to run and maintain a photo gallery. I only peruse my photos time to time and then it’s nice having the meta tags and such to find things.

What other tools/apps do people use? I’m lowkey avoiding anything with subscription pricing, especially with photos and online hosting.

iTunes and such wasn’t working with accounts using self provided safety keys. I finally got Apple Music and iCloud in Windows 11, then promptly installed Cider. It’s not perfect but I can scrobble stuff and it still has lots of features

Maybe we need a third option than just two.

They shouldn’t let this become common. Hiding who Runs the company just makes them even MORE faceless and disconnected from humanity. Maybe focus on not shafting literally the entire population for money and shit coverage.

Honestly it’s fucking angering. So much regulation and geo-restrictions and licensing schemes… but it’s cool that there are data brokers, and shit like this. On top of it all Chrome screwing us with manifest v3 and killing ad blocking on chrome. It’s already in canary build.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS SPECIES?!

Reddit shares opened up about 38 percent on Thursday in their first day of trading, in a sign of investor eagerness that set the stage for more tech companies to reach the stock market this year.

I haven’t voiced this before, but after seeing him and his actions for the last 10-15 years… I’ve grown to literally hate him. That smug turtle faced prick. I hate him so much. He’s done so much damage to America. He stalled us on decades of progress. He’s a piece of shit that deserves his shitty health and to rot in hell.

I’m sorry if that’s harsh to say about another human being, but, he is one who truly does not care about anyone but himself and to ‘stick it’ to everyone else who isn’t on his side. He’s truly an evil man.

This is what I like to see. Not just heels digging in, but explanations as to why, the follow-ups, the investigation of options and follow through. Thanks for the transparency. Piracy has and won’t ever go away. I used to pirate due to lack of money and resources. When I had those I went legit. When legit sources started turning into:

  • monthly subscriptions for everything
  • when legit sources suddenly delete or remove content from their systems (to avoid paying taxes?)
  • when the rates go up for everything (internet access AND streaming services)
  • now ads in your paid services unless you pay more (Amazon)
  • Plex trying to go legit and police where and how people run their private streaming, fucking over license holders who built the financial footing they could stand on in the first place. Cool.

You can’t rely on any shit from these services, except for one shit… enshittification.

I don’t want to sound negative, but as a consumer, it’s been nothing but ads rammed down our throats from everywhere we go and look. They lie, they change rates, they shrinkflate, while their pockets get bigger. Long live piracy.
