I really don't get the love for Valve. They charge double the fees of some other digital platforms, and people flip the fuck out when a developer is like "we're releasing on origin because paying Valve would cost more money than the entire net profit of the game.

Any time someone is terminated without cause, the employer simply doesn't provide a reason for termination. They're not required to.

That's simply not accurate in 49 out of 50 states.

Basically, you can be fired for any reason aside from membership in a protected class.

But if you are terminated without cause, you can collect unemployment, which the further employer is required to pay.

You can be fired for almost anything.

They just may have to pay unemployment.

Peaceful protest should be seen as the opening bid. When it's ignored or repressed, people escalate.

The fact that almost nobody is upset over a CEO's assassination is terrifying to those in power. And that's why they're trying to fast-track a death-penalty case against him. If the momentum.of support for what he did continues, they won't be safe ever.

I carry 2 phones all the time. I work in government. If I use my phone for work, it becomes subject to Open Records requests, so the city gives me a stipend to pay for a second phone to do all my city business.

I worked at a different city that didn't do that for most employees, and everyone just used their personal phones anyway. We got an Open Records request that resulted in me having to search everyone's text message history. I felt dirty.
