AliExpress can offer great deals, but it's also very easy to get scammed, receive a cheap knock-off, or even end up with nothing at all. The search engine isn't very helpful, often mixing reputable merchants with sketchy ones and real products with junk.

So far, I've found the AliUp extension, which seems fairly helpful. I wish there were third-party websites with independent reviews, but I haven't found anything truly helpful or comprehensive yet.

So, what are your tips for buying on AliExpress or similar platforms?

Can you help me find a video of a man who pretends to help a woman with her two bottles of wine, but leaves her in a terrible position? The woman ends up with her hands stuck in a gate, and she can't free them without dropping the bottles.

Thank you!

Am I the only one to still use regular vim? I tried to switch to Neovim a few years ago, but there were a few things I didn't like, so I switched back. Vim has improved tremendously, so I no longer feel a need to switch. With LSP and Copilot, I feel that I am close to the optimal dev environment these days...

What will happen next? I assume the (federal) supreme court will simply shoot it down. But I'd love to hear other opinions!

I don't understand why they keep targeting art. Wouldn't smashing car windows (for example!) make more sense?

Never seen that banner or an ad. I guess it's just a matter of time though 😕

Hi,

Yesterday I stumbled on this very interesting story, which describes the horrible mess patients have to deal with in order to get into clinical trials: https://bessstillman.substack.com/p/please-be-dying-but-not-too-quickly.

I wanted to share it on Lemmy, but I couldn't think of the right community. Any insight? I feel this is relevant to a fairly broad audience.

Another example of a multi-billion dollar company that doesn’t curate their products/services. Costs too much money they would only profit 234 billion instead of 244 billion.

In the long term it's a terrible strategy. People will lose confidence and stop shopping there. I've almost stopped and I know I'm not the only one.

Not that most executives care about long term...

What makes the problem hard is that there are a lot of dickheads on both sides, not just the governments. You can be an oppressed victim AND a dick. These things are not mutually exclusive, unfortunately.

So this is the "moderate republican". Good to know...

I don't buy on Amazon anymore. Not only to they treat their employees like crap, but also it's harder and harder to find quality stuff on their platform. Fake reviews are a huge problem.

This is big news. It will have repercussions on the way big pension funds invest their money, which in turn will affect interest rates, share prices, etc. In the long run, this is definitely going to have real-world repercussions, even if it's hard to see exactly what right now.

Huffman says the blackout hasn’t had “significant revenue impact”

So two-day revenue change is his preferred metric? If I were a Reddit investor, I wouldn't want this guy as a CEO...

This site has a graph that shows how many subs are private: https://blackout.photon-reddit.com/

I find it a good way to see how the situation is evolving as a whole.
