Target is both to hit your sense of justice (I’m a male feminist) but also engage the innate urge to see the photos. Example

Anne Hathaway criticized by chauvinists for being too sexy on the red carpet

Oh wow, I hate sexism so much I better check out these photos!! so I can…support women?

It CAN work for men but is usually not demeaning. Chris Pratt went from adorable pudge to sexy muscleman, click here to see him shirtless! Not the same I guess.

Guy at work always starts saying sexist shit when no other women are around, maybe wanting to built camaraderie or something? Toxic masculinity is a myth. Women all want the bad boys. No thanks we can avoid the 1:1 convos from now on.

  1. PCMag - I used to physically walk into a store and buy that magazine to read about computers…before the internet was so clean and fast it made for a better news and media experience. I’m pretty sure PCMag has been around since they included AOL cds with an isssue.

  2. Woot! Lol…why? Woot was always stupid. The deals were never good. There is no need for it.

Both of these give me a lot of nostalgia for the early 2000’s. Playing games on Yahoo messenger. GameCube, PS2, OG Xbox.

Shocked they still exist, let alone have the funds to be running Facebook ads.

I’m sorry. The corporate assholes don’t deserve to pad their fat wallets based on your free labor, but it’s still absolutely the loss of something you love when you step away and it hurts. I’m still grieving losing Apollo and all of the goofy, weird ass little subs and brilliant human beings who made me laugh and cry every day on Reddit. It’s not been replaced in my life. It took millions of us almost 20 years to make that stupid website something incredible…I can’t deny that it was incredible at points.

It’s gone, it’s just a website now and an app with ads every 3rd pixel just like the rest. There is still some good content and good people, just as there are on TikTok, Bookface, X and insta. The decent shit that is there, on all of the platforms, is overwhelmed by their horrible algorithm trying to sell you shit and increase engagement to monetize your every click.

Comcast says it represents a 10 Gigabit cable internet network they are building (it doesn’t exist) so they are basically changing the meaning of the g from generation to gig to act like 10g is 5 generations better (or twice as fast)…or that they have a 10 gigabit network. Neither is accurate. It’s still just cable internet that people have to use because they have no other option.

Fuck Comcast.

I read online they are abandoning the “confusing” 10g branding but I just saw a commercial for it. They think all of their customers are morons and count on folks having no other choices in a lot of cases.

Apologies to anyone outside the United States, this is just complaining about our poor internet options and deceptive advertising by greedy corporations.

That thing where you put on a fresh pair of socks and one has a hole so you think well I went to all that trouble to pull it on, this will be your last day little buddy, I’ll just throw it away after I wear it today.

Last chance underwear happen now and again as well but I guess it depends on where the hole is.

What does this mean, if anything? How would it be possible for a car company to be carbon neutral? Is this just nonsense/posturing since it’s so long from now?

Background for myself, I was a viewer when Good Burger was a sketch on “All That,” a children’s sketch comedy show on Nickelodeon in the 90’s. It was basically Saturday night live for kids. They had this heavyset girl who sarcastically read the news like Chevy Chase and shit. It was pretty edgy for nine-year-olds. Good Burger wasn’t even the funniest sketch on the fucking show. All of the comedy revolved around Kel’s character talking like a white surfer/stoner guy…like Bill & Ted, also popular around the time. He misunderstood peoples orders in an adorable way…I’d like a shake so he would shake you. Great.

In 1997 I graduated high school and they released the movie that year… I guess it’s nostalgic and that’s why people remember it. Other 90s kids? Similar to SNL movies, it had cameos from a bunch of stars, and sort of a built-in audience, I guess, because of TV. I’m not sure if it went to theaters, but if it did, I don’t know who in the hell would watch it. Seems more like a VHS or Nickelodeon in the afternoon kind of thing.

For me, I don’t understand how they could squeeze anything longer than a seven minute sketch out of the concept. I guess he Keenan Thompson is funny, but even him I’ve never seen him be funny longer than a seven minute sketch. And Kel is kind of like Jason Mewes, a novelty and not really a comedian or actor. Cool that he’s still around, like the Chinese kid from Indiana Jones.

Edit to add - Ke Huy Quan deserved the Oscar as he’s talented…Kel is not, only nostalgic imo

OK then. Doesn’t make sense to me that this movie was made or that anyone is in it or that anyone would want to watch it. But the Internet won’t stop trying to get me to see it. And it has like 67% critic rating on rotten tomatoes. Am I missing something? There are lots of fantastic movies that barely have 67%.

Update…Per Microsoft’s instructions, disabled all tracking protections in Safari and requested desktop mode and it works. Their instructions say turn protections back on after using teams… 😐

Funny enough it works in Safari and not Edge…tho that may be Apple’s fault since all browsers are somewhat just versions of Safari, last I heard…

Then you look at the temperature and think eh…45 isn’t that bad. We’ll survive. That will be the moment the wind whips up and sleet starts hitting you in the face.

I don’t see many compliments about Steve like the outpouring of love for people like Paul Reubens when they die, so I just wanted to share some nice words about him.

My sister saw Smash Mouth and 3rd Eye Blind together in 1997 and Steve called out to the crowd “FUCK MARILYN MANSON.” I was taken aback at the time but realized he was basically calling out the focus on darkness, anger, self harm, violence etc in Marilyn’s music and the effect on the world (especially youth), vs positivity, togetherness. The music he’s put out seems to have embodies this.

You don’t read a lot about his personal life or cutesy fan interaction ala Bill Murray or Keanu…but by all accounts he is a kind and humble guy. He seems to have struggled a lot with alcohol and mental health but loved to party and have a good time.

I hope more people speak about with good things to say about him. I have a feeling he was a great guy we didn’t know very well.

Doing something to playfully point out the silliness of the policy…or she could sue. Seems like she did the less extra of those two options.

I have a friend who was upset he couldn’t wear shorts to the office while women could wear capri pants…he found women’s capri pants in his size and wore them. I guess he’s extra as well?

Probably the best written article I’ve read on this subject. All concerning things in the article that Reddit absolutely doesn’t care about. Canning milk? What the fuck.

Edit: I forgot that condensed milk is a thing…wondering if people can make it at home?

Social media seems to be laughing its ass off about this tragedy, is it because the folks at burning man are perceived as frivolous hippies or something? Everyone I’ve ever met who was a regular burning man attendee has been a solid human being with strong morals, personally and financially responsible, a career. Upstanding members of society for sure. I guess all some people know is the sensationalized drugs and sex. A person died. This is a tragedy for an event that brings positivity into the world. Kind of annoyed.

TL;DR - they are rude to vendors (caterer, venue, photographer, DJ)

I was a wedding DJ for over 10 years and I’ll tell you one thing…if one of them is shitty to either you or another vendor they don’t seem to last. Loudly complaining about the catering staff or venue, photographer or DJ, being shitty to people in general. Making it through your wedding day without being an asshole is easier than marriage in my humble opinion. Being nice to other human beings, kind and patient seems to be a sign it WILL last…

One comes to mind, one of the few Mormon receptions I’ve ever done. Bride was pissed the dance floor wasn’t filled when “Thriller” was played. They didn’t serve a meal (only snacks), no alcohol and most of the people there were not invited to the ceremony since it’s at the temple thing where non-Mormons are not allowed. Those things make for an awkward event and of course most people did not dance or have a good time in general. Her family couldn’t stand her but paid for everything. She spent most of the reception bitching about different vendors (photog, food, me). Husband apologized saying she is “just being s butthead.” She is probably the only Mormon person I have ever seen be rude to other people. No way they stayed married.

I would be surprised if many bridezillas or douchegrooms stayed married.

Other couples come to mind where different things went horribly wrong, responsible party apologizing profusely, certain they have a one star review or other consequences coming (if you’ve ever seen online wars between brides and vendors, or going to court over a debacle, that’s what I mean)…coupled brush it off and laugh and have fun, say thank you…yeah they stay married.

I live in Indiana…I had to sign a form yesterday allowing teachers to call my son Ben instead of Benjamin. Otherwise it would literally be illegal. Fuck these fascists…
