Well that's shit.

I don't live in Guelph, but I know a few who do, and have also briefly read from others complaints about the transit system in Guelph. Sure it's better than it is in some other places in Canada, but that's a looooow bar. Toronto has the best transit that I know in Ontario, and there's still a lot of shortcomings with it.

Here's an article that gives a bit more info on Guelph transit system. It seems that there's some disagreement on whether it is actually "bad" or not in the article. To be fair, I'm biased as to what qualifies as a good transportation network, as most people from this community would be.

It's spoken about in the video, but a woman called Kris that worked for Mr Beast had some controversy come about I think grooming children or being a pedophile (not sure about details). Mr Beast feigned ignorance about it, but the guy in the OP video claims it was an "open secret everybody knew". He also says it's even worse than "just" that because Mr Beast's company specifically works with understanding how to manipulate child psychology and bring children in, and videos etc have brought minors into easier access by Kris.

You might be getting a lot of weird right wing shit because Kris is a trans woman and a common right wing accusation against trans people is that they are pedophiles.

Holy shit tell me about it, but I kinda thought maybe I was just being paranoid about it because of all the money that he has put towards philanthropic things.

Ah wait this need for a "come down" from stimulation might explain a lot of things for me.

If I'm coming down from a long day/walk/etc. the tiredness hits me, but if I don't go to bed and fall asleep fast enough, even if I'm relaxing, then I will no longer be sleepy and will struggle to fall asleep.

Nah I'm just in hella debt

I just started interning and it's my first office job (Yay!) but most of the clothes I feel comfortable wearing are not really office attire. Especially shoes. I have no "appropriate" shoes because shoes have always been a particular source of sensory issues so I wear the same black pair of mesh trainers. I have to commute in a big city so I end up walking a decent amount, and shoes that are tight and/or heavy really mess with my focus.

Do you guys have any advice on how to find comfortable shoes that are at least a bit more office appropriate? Maybe solid clean white sneakers? For reference I'm female.

I mean, of all the ways to manipulate people into paying money on an app, I feel like changing the app icon to draw attention is fairly benign?

I'm out of the loop, what happened with Taylor Swift? I know she private jets everywhere but something happened recently to cause this sudden wave of memes no?

Probably time to switch instances if instance admins have control over what words you can and can't say simply because it's a slur

Edit: obviously some slurs are better left unsaid but that doesn't mean you should be automatically blocked from saying them.

I can't decide whether or not this is a genuine comment and it's fucking hilarious

Ok but what's the topic of the server

I'm unable to see the lists of posts I've made on desktop, mobile, and any of the mobile clients I've used. This goes for my accounts on both sh.itjust.works and Lemmy.world. I like seeing how my posts are doing or going back to read comments on there even if they've been marked as read. Could it be that it's not showing my posts because they've been marked as read and I've got settings to hide read posts? If so, seeing my own posts should be exempt from this setting.

UPDATE: if I show read posts, I can see my posts. This is definitely something that should be fixed; show read posts settings should only apply on my feeds, not when I'm looking through a user's or my own post history
