I thought people in this thread were talking about not scrubbing the inside of the machine walls and I could relate.

This comment made me realize people meant they just don't clean the basket... What the fuck

Like, if I make something that doesn't leave any significant residue I might dump the crumbs and use it again but even a little oil and it's getting cleaned.

There are exceptions for the very few things the US authorizes to export to Cuba, but in general:

  1. What are the “180-day rule” and the “goods/passengers-on-board rule”?

The 180-day rule is a statutory restriction prohibiting any vessel that enters a port or place in Cuba to engage in the trade of goods or the purchase or provision of services there from entering any U.S. port for the purpose of loading or unloading freight for 180 days after leaving Cuba, unless authorized by OFAC. This restriction is applied even if a vessel has stopped in Cuba solely to purchase services unrelated to the trade of goods, such as planned ship maintenance.

No of course not why would the most powerful man on earth and former VP to the president who made that progress with Cuba have any responsibility to change anything.

He had the power and has not done it. It IS as bad as Trump's actions to uphold them.

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 32 points 2 days ago

I was more pointing out how Biden has done little or nothing to REVERSE Trump's regressions despite having the power to.

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 18 points 2 days ago

The US has an embargo, but Mexico and Canada don't.

Technically, but the US has sanctioned companies in other countries who do business in Cuba scaring off a ton of possible choices. The companies have to choose between the richest company on earth and Cuba. Not much of a choice.

Plus IIRC boats that go to Cuba can't go to the US after for some period of time. Which considering location makes it hugely inconvenient for shipping companies.

Plus since the US and US based companies control a huge portion of the world's financial systems Cuba is locked out of all of them

Then Biden got into office and uh,

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 11 points 2 days ago

Nah that's not unusual. Brain trauma or degradation can and often does leave someone with a beating heart but little to no hope of ever being conscious again - hence the term brain death.

We've reached an impasse in which you seem to be solely interested in arguing about semantics regarding hypotheticals with no basis in reality whatsoever. This conversation is going nowhere and has no point.

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 7 points 3 days ago

That's absolutely absurd. If Palestine was capable of inflicting genocide upon its oppressors, they'd not be in this situation to begin with. Can we talk about reality here?

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 12 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

There is no terrorism against the settler-colonial genocide regime. Israel is not better because their violence is more formal and systematic. Resistance by Palestine is valid in any form given it's position. Whatever worthless criticism you may have of the means of Palestinian resistance should be blamed on the Israeli regime for forcing them to this point.

That's the most disgusting, sick and twisted interpretation of justice I can imagine. Monsters and psychopaths the lot of them.

Absolutely and without question yes

I'm actually not afraid of printing things larger than a few square inches on the bed.... Waited way too long for this. Tightening up the eccentric screws on the bed carriage so it doesn't wobble also helps.

Lots of stringing but as I understand that's normal for TPU. Printed at 225⁰C on a 30⁰ bed, stock Ender 3 S1. 0 retraction, 0.93 flow, 35mm/s for most speeds

Highlights

Welcome to release v1.99.0 of Immich. This release adds the new logo, fixes many bugs, and improves the application. Some of the highlights include:

  • [WEB] Sort photos and videos to display direction in an album.
  • On-disk cache on the mobile app to provide a better viewing experience.
  • There is a new endpoint for OpenTelemetry metrics to monitor performance.
  • Optimized queries for large libraries.
  • Add upload progress and speed indicator.
  • XMP sidecar file is now recognized with both photo.ext.xmp and photo.xmp extensions.
  • Drag to select - Now press your thumb to drag and select in the selection mode.
  • Improve user feedback in the mobile app's backup and album selection screen.
  • Various improvements for the library scanning process.

Asset's display direction in the album

We added an option to change the order of the assets in the album so you can view the assets from older to newest and vice versa.

album.view.order.mp4

Mobile asset caching

Improving cache for remote thumbnails and the images, they now stay on disk so that they can load faster and give a better experience while used offline. You should feel a faster loading experience across the app.

Performance monitoring with OpenTelemetry integration

Immich provides a variety of performance metrics to allow for local monitoring and insights. This integration is primarily in the form of Prometheus metrics. However, exporting traces is also possible due to OpenTelemetry instrumentation. Please visit the documentation to learn how to enable this feature

Note

This opt-in feature allows you to monitor Immich's performance. This data isn't sent anywhere beyond what you've configured.

File size progress and upload speed indicator

We added an indicator to show the file's size that has been uploaded and the upload speed under the progress bar in the backup screen.

Simulator.Screen.Recording.-.iPhone.15.Pro.Max.-.2024-03-14.at.18.08.37.mp4

Drag to select

You can now drag to select in the mobile app when in selection mode; this will help make selecting in bulk easier.

And lastly, I want to express my gratitude to @immich-app/contributor who make this behemoth of a release happen 🎉

And as always, bugs are fixed, and many other improvements also come with this release.
