I was in a restaurant last week in Lisboa and they have this absolutely stunning view and there was still a table with it. But the waitress told us straight away, we'd be cooking in the sun (there was a roof, but the sun was angled just so), we might get a sunstroke, etc. We played it safe just in case.
I thought maybe she was trying to keep the table for I dunno who, but everyone got the same spiel. One mum and her daughter thought to ignore her, sat at the table, then stood back up within 30 seconds.
