She is right. Republican loyal to Trump are wanting to end our America Democracy. I hope the young people vote.

“They have to make a decision about our democracy, our flag, our Constitution, the future of our children in a democratic state that is a model to the world,” Pelosi said.

During a town hall moderated by Fox News host Sean Hannity Tuesday, four-times indicted Trump did not rule out abusing power or seeking retribution from his political opponents if he gets reelected.

a democratic state that is a model to the world

Is it still a model for the world, though?

[-] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

One can still learn from a flawed model.

[-] Hairyblue@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

It needs more guard rails, Trump did show us that.

[-] PugJesus@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

World's in a bad condition. We're not the top model, but sadly we're probably in the top 10% still.

[-] agent_flounder@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Not the best one by any means, but probably to some degree.

[-] spaceghoti@lemmy.one 33 points 1 year ago

At least she's willing to point out the blatantly obvious, unlike a lot of people.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago

It is indeed not a good sign that someone speaking the plain truth makes news like this.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 30 points 1 year ago

That’s not what an inside job is. That’s what a coup is.

[-] Reptorian@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I mean, a coup can be done with a inside job. It's both to be honest.

[-] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago

I watched it unfold live on TV, we all know it was an "inside job" and have for what, 3 years now?

[-] gregorum@lemm.ee 23 points 1 year ago

yes, and he's on trial for it. like... a lot.

[-] LEDZeppelin@lemmy.world 47 points 1 year ago

He is also leading the GOP poll by like … a lot

Tells you more about GOP voters than about judicial system

[-] gregorum@lemm.ee 26 points 1 year ago

Tells you more about GOP voters than about judicial system

i'd argue that it tells us a great deal about both, but your point is taken.

[-] spriteblood@kbin.social 9 points 1 year ago

I guess when they call themselves the party of law and order they're talking about the TV show???

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

They were never serious about that, except to weaponize "law and order" to be used against liberals, immigrants, POC, non-xtians, gays, etc...they never meant anything to be applied to themselves.

The party of (using) Law and Order (as a cudgel to beat those we deem beneath us)

[-] billiam0202@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

The party of using the law to order you to obey their Christofascist dictates.

[-] agent_flounder@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Law and order is usually a dog whistle for "oppress the other"

[-] Pratai@lemmy.ca 23 points 1 year ago

Top notch detective work there. She missed her true calling.

[-] fosforus@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

It needs to be said when the republican side is peddling a new iteration of Goebbel's Big Lie.

[-] n3m37h@lemmy.dbzer0.com -3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Idk She is pretty good at stealing from people

[-] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 18 points 1 year ago

Now that was a roller coaster

  1. "Nancy Pelosi": Huh, wonder what she is up to
  2. "Jan 6": Oh, new information?
  3. "Inside Job": Oh god, she has gone insane
  4. "By Donald Trump": ... Oh, no. That actually is accurate. And... nothing new? But I guess it is good to say it
[-] HawlSera@lemm.ee 15 points 1 year ago

Because it was

[-] the_q@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

I mean, yeah. How could it have not been? Great work, Nance...

[-] mosiacmango@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

It seems impossible, but lots of people don't believe or know the above.

You do have to state the obvious at times to get to people not otherwise listening.

[-] legios@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

But I was told it was all Antifa and not Trump loyalists and no matter all the evidence to say otherwise I won't change my mind because (deep state|tribalism|lack of critical thinking)!

[-] Techmaster@lemm.ee 13 points 1 year ago

I was wondering when it would finally dawn on her.

[-] DahGangalang@infosec.pub 7 points 1 year ago

Whoa, does that mean if Trump gets elected again that Inside Job will get a 3rd season?!? Wow, I know who I'm voting for this election!!1! :D /s

[-] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

This case is moving extremely fast /s

[-] Akasazh@feddit.nl 2 points 1 year ago

Your reaction took me by surprise and I actually laughed out loud.

[-] doublejay1999@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

At the bottom of the page, a link :

Vivek Ramaswamy Falsely Claims Jan. 6 Attack Was 'An Inside Job'

The state of our media folks.

[-] villainy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago
[-] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Yeah, it doesn't even say who he thinks is behind it. But judging by his rhetoric he thinks it was the fbi or cia who was behind Jan 6. "Inside job by the fbi" and "inside job by Trump and insane republicans" are two very fucking different things, but we're gonna pretend they're the same statement and the media is treating them differently?

[-] breakingcups@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Maybe she should change her last name to Drew.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

She's right.
