I never really liked his attitude on TV when races were discussed. Typically Dutch to consider themselves the expert after racing one season, and then provide the weirdest takes saying they know the drivers very well. As a Dutch person myself I hope I'm allowed to say that.

I didn't follow F1 so closely 10 years ago so I wasn't fully aware of the circumstances. I'm not happy about the retirement; this probably means he will have to stick his face around more often to stay relevant.

At first glance, I didn't notice the community and thought I was looking at a picture of Homelander.

There's nothing wrong with your comment except it shouldn't have been a comment but just a fleeting thought until you scrolled on. Not every thought that comes up in your head needs to be made public.

Oh, this is nothing. c/formula1, for some reason, constantly shows up in my instances global feed, and I almost always have some initial reaction to the posts before I notice the community. It's wonderfully disconcerting; Formula 1 has an incredible number of dopplgangers, and for someone like me who has neither knowledge or interest in the sport, it's very surreal.

I'd block the community to save myself the confusion, but even more to save you all from insights irrelevant to your sport, except it's a little like watching The Kardashians: an incredible amount of drama generated by a few really rich people. Not quite pro-wrestling level, but still impressive.

Yeah, global feed seems to be a bit of whack-a-mole sometimes. I appreciate your added context and I think it would have been a good conversation starter if you started with that. Rereading my comment, it sounds a bit more gruff than I intended.

I think the difference is that in Formula 1 there is also team based skill and personal driver skill at work. With reality TV there is little of that what makes a sport a sport.

If you like the drama I highly recommend the Netflix series Drive To Survive. It catches some of the juicy drama and highlights some internal workings of the sport not clear at first glance.

Naw, it's all cool. My comment was non-topical for the c/.

Oh! Don't get me wrong. I wasn't saying that watching F1 was like watchig the Kardashians; I was saying watching the F1 news posts was like reality TV: a new drama every day. And all the drivers are (or seem to be) supermodels.

From what I've seen, F1 races themselves are like the antithesis of golf, and filled with razor-sharp, skilled folks constantly risking their lives - and that's just the pit crews! It's just not my bag.
