Complex person with plenty of contradictions.

Genius musician, at one point said "Hitler was one of the first rock stars" and collected Nazi memorobilia, but then later called out MTV for featuring so few black artists. And the whole underage groupie and rape allegations thing really isn't great.

At times I've found it hard to separate the art from the artist. Some of his music is genuinely great. Then again, so is Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll Part I...

I don't think it's fair to victims of sexual violence, to pretend his record is spotless, but that doesn't necessarily diminish his impact on culture and music.

Such a great album too, though I can kind of see why he might’ve thought it wasn’t going to be a commercial success, there’s some songs that are a bit out there, but ‘Sound and Vision’ has had a constant presence on my playlists for literally decades now.
