It's been broken for weeks I hear that it works on some clients.

They've changed something in their API, which they seem to do every so often. Sync hasn't been updated to handle that change yet.

This is very unprofessional of redgifs. If you have an API you should make it stable. If you have to release a breaking change then you should create a new version of the API and support both versions for a while.

I’m on iOS and use Avelon which also can’t currently view redgifs content.

From what I understand they do it on purpose due to all of the bandwidth being used where people aren’t going directly to their site to see the ads.

I remember the Apollo creator was asked to do something specific when displaying redgifs. Like only SD quality or something.

Edit: that's literally the error. It's not me embellishing: it's the code that they're returning. They even include a link to API docs

Error appears to be RTFM - Read The Fucking Manual

Some sort of mistake in the protocol sync uses on their new API.

It's time to get it fixed.

I believe the "rtfm" in the error payload is meant to link to the docs, rather than the error itself being "rtfm"

Will look into this and get a patch working asap. Cheers
