Russia’s inability to push orders to the front and the rigid structure stopping units from solving local issues without the approval of higher ups is truly antiquated. As the article alludes to
no western army has faced such high fatality rates among its senior officers since 1945
there is something fishy in the state of Russia
It's an issue with authoritarian power structures. Nobody wants to be responsible for making a mistake, so no one wants to do anything without orders from higher up.
War is organized murder and nothing else.
