The federal carbon price is not the “be-all, end-all” of climate policy, and New Democrats are open to alternative plans presented by premiers, NDP environment critic Laurel Collins said Wednesday.

I mean, okay, but when those alternatives are developing LNG extraction and exporting, maybe those aren't good faith proposals.

If Blaine Higgs can do anything apart from shill for the Irving family's private interests and spit in the face of trans people, I'd be surprised.

This guy is even more transparently in the pocket of the Oil & Gas industry than former O&G lobbyist Marlaina Smith.

What purpose would the NDP have for pushing the reds to meet in an emergency fashion with the cons? And if the greens show up, will at least THEY be on the ball enough to mention Smith Falls and fracking?

Is it just to stir up shit? Is it sabre-rattling after so long being the reds' bitch? Is it to get MsMay a microphone so she can lay down some red and blue beats? I just hope the NDP aren't deluded into thinking this should be a serious meeting, because the cons are just there for talking points -- trans bad, windmills bad, healthcare bad, and #bootstraps.

The NDP are playing politics in the worst fucking way imaginable. I cannot believe they would fucking do this.

There is no other policy. It's either a carbon tax or government prescribed forced industry reductions which will be less effective and face far more chance of fuck up and collateral damage.

This isn't even the type of fucking thing you would figure out at a meeting. If the premiers want to submit detailed plans for lowering emissions to be soberly assessed by environmental experts they're welcome to, and they have, and they don't actually have real plans.

Fuck the NDP for this. They are literally threatening our entire environmental future for one fucking election. This is a cowardly piss ant move.
