Literal nazis were allowed to march in charlotesville and these protests are being called antisemitic.

Biden is not going to win this election.

Lowest approval out of all recent presidents and people want me to believe my single sympathy vote can save them. I don't think I have the heart to tell some of them my voting habits when the time inevitably comes. Investors and major leaders already accepted the good numbers for a Trump victory and they're hoping for a good year in business when he rolls around again, some fresh profit margins. They don't understand that I'm not rich enough to decide, the rulers of the country already made their picks and they won't accept less without some serious promises from Biden

yeah trump is winning again and its not looking good.

and honestly yet more promising isnt fixing anything...

[-] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 months ago

What makes you think that Trump is winning?

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 3 points 5 months ago

Polling, and the fact Biden is whole heartedly embracing a genocidal regime in israel

[-] umbrella@lemmy.ml 2 points 5 months ago

the fact that biden is only appealibg to internet fucking liberals and trump has more voting intention. the fact that trump isnt in fucking prision. hes what rich people want, hes what they will have.

[-] xnx@slrpnk.net 3 points 5 months ago

No one expects you to, son.

Some people are really dense lol. Biden has lost this election with his response to these protests. Left wingers are not anti semites and you would have to literally be dumb as fuck to believe otherwise

[-] TimLovesTech@badatbeing.social -1 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

But voting Trump would be just throwing gas on that fire. He is all in on this genocide and has called it great. His base thinks they need the Jews to trigger Armageddon so the Zombie Sky Wizard can come save them all. He would also pull funding from Ukraine, and back Putin in anything he wants.

Also anyone writing that the protests are antisemitism are spreading right wing talking points. They know the majority of the left have an issue with being seen as racist, while they wear their hoods with pride.

EDIT - autocorrect is my enemy.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 1 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

That’s not enough to convince these students being arrested now,

Biden is literally calling them anti semites

And no one said anything about voting for Trump, although I think he will win now if not because of this specifically

[-] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 months ago

I would be really surprised if Trump won. The guy has so many points against him it's laughable. What's more, people know what kind of a president he'll be already. He isn't some wacky unknown like in 2016. So, people would be voting him with full knowledge of what they're voting for.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 1 points 5 months ago

30-40% of the United States voting base is literally ignorant racist fucks. Biden will win the popular vote but to win the electoral college he needs at the very least 55% or so and the battleground states matter most.

[-] TimLovesTech@badatbeing.social -1 points 5 months ago

If they don't vote for democracy, they are allowing the rise of a dictator. A dictator that is going to make their world a whole lot worse. Someone calling them an anti-semite when they know they aren't, and the Jewish people protesting with them know they are not, sucks and is misguided. But that shouldn't be reason enough to hand democracy over to the guy who wants to be a dictator. The next protest they attend will have the military putting it down, or his proud boys.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 5 months ago

Your point of view is incorrect. They have their own world view, and from that world view they see Biden as a supporter of genocide, and he has embraced his support of the genocidal regime.

[-] TimLovesTech@badatbeing.social 1 points 5 months ago

Ok, and electing Trump who has said he 100% approves of the genocide also, and would like to also kill protesters domestically is better? He also wants to remove our constitution, democracy, and round up the kind of people having these very discussions. And I agree Biden absolutely should move faster to do something about what is happening, but being upset about it and then pissing away any chance it could get better, among all the things that will surely get worse does not compute for me.

“You have to finish up your war. You have to finish it up. You’ve got to get it done,” [Trump] said in an interview with Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom. “We’ve got to get to peace. You can’t have this going on, and I will say Israel has to be very careful because you are losing a lot of the world. You are losing a lot of support.” He knows this war is unpopular and has better political instincts. See also: his new stance on TikTok.

Biden is actually the stronger supporter of genocide. He will support Israel even if they ethnically cleanse Gaza entirely.

And I would rather kill myself than vote for genocide. Bushnell cast the only legitimate vote in this election as far as I'm concerned.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 1 points 5 months ago

Yes it is sad to see Trump backtracking on genocide against Israel before Biden does but I would still not vote for Trump regardless of anything that happens now or in the future, ever.

Biden on the other hand has the potential to win the vote of the youth but he is literally pooping in their faces.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 1 points 5 months ago

I'm casting a protest vote. I will not vote for Génocidaire A nor Génocidaire B.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social -3 points 5 months ago

Your opinion is probably not that important then…. Go eat some French fries in your new car and pay your cable bill

[-] qwertyqwertyqwerty@lemmy.one 14 points 5 months ago

This map is missing the Cornell University protest.

[-] thejevans@lemmy.ml 13 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

It's also missing CU Denver. 40 people were arrested yesterday.

[-] fnie@lemm.ee 2 points 5 months ago

It's missing numerous protests at smaller colleges and universities.

[-] SweetLava@hexbear.net 11 points 5 months ago

The numbers are going up and there are far more campuses involved, iirc.

Colorado, Arizona, Louisiana, South Carolina, Oregon from what I can see. Check the latest NYTimes article. And yes, there are already mass arrests being made at these more recent campus protests. They are taking this very seriously.

I really thought Israel was gone in 2022 and was going to accept a silent death. Look how wrong I was to assume.....

[-] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 3 points 5 months ago

I really thought Israel was gone in 2022 and was going to accept a silent death.

Gone? Gone where? Where would a nation go?

[-] urist@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Ah fuck.

As an online student, I was surprised to see my college on the map and also in red.

If my college wasn't too far away I hope I would be in jail (edit: for nonviolent civil disobedience reasons, not because I was in a fist fight or something)

[-] Bartsbigbugbag@lemmy.ml 5 points 5 months ago

MSU Denver/CCD/CU Denver campus has a protest going on, bunch of people arrested yesterday.

[-] gitgud@lemmy.ml 5 points 5 months ago

They're not getting arrested, they're being involuntarily transported to America's loveliest Free Speech Zones ™️
